Sandia National Laboratories
Senior Member of Technical Staff
Dr. Cesar A. Silva-Monroy is a member of the Electric Power System Research group at Sandia National Laboratories in Albuquerque, NM. He has over 10 years of experience in the areas of power system operations and planning, and renewable energy integration. His research focuses on applying novel computational techniques to increase the efficiency, reliability and resilience of the electric grid. He currently leads projects at Sandia for DHS, DOE/EERE and DOE/OE on increasing the resilience of power systems to geomagnetic disturbances, performing stochastic production cost modeling simulations under high penetration of renewables, and optimizing energy storage deployments in deregulated markets, respectively. Cesar received his PhD from University of Washington in 2011.
