Group NIRE and Texas Tech University were selected by the Center for Commercialization for Electric Technologies (CCET) to deploy a 1MW/1MWH Battery at the Reese Technology Center to be used in connections with Group NIRE’s wind testing and certification site. The battery was commissioned on October 18, 2013.
Group NIRE was selected by Texas Tech University, Vestas, and Sandia National Labs to develop and build the DOE/SNL SWiFT Scaled Wind Farm Testing Facility. Group NIRE secured the Power Purchase Agreement and Interconnection Agreement for SWiFT while erecting the Vestas wind turbine at the site. The SWiFT facility was commissioned on July 9, 2013.
Group NIRE was selected by Alstom Power Inc in 2010 to deploy the ECO-86 wind turbine prototype. Group NIRE, in partnership with Texas Tech University’s National Wind Institute (NWI, then WISE), successfully deployed the prototype in 4 months to meet Alstom’s certification timeline.
